BAHRAIN TESTING 14-16 FEBRUARY 2023

8 sets of tires – 200 laps.

That's how easy it is to encapsulate the first test of the year in F2 in Bahrain.

Vesti is satisfied on top of lots of race runs that took him to the limit - and beyond. It cost him a red flag on the first day of testing.

"

If it is to happen, it has to be during the test and not on a race weekend. I seek that limit more than ever. Sometimes it comes at a price, but that's where I excel.

"

Vesti was fastest on the prime tire, the option tire wasn't used to the same extent, but that doesn't matter.

"

I am in the process of finding the optimal rhythm again with Prema. We got to try testing a lot of things – including our collaboration and communication. I am happy to be back with Prema. It's as if the gearbox is extra lubricated. For me, Prema is a mini F1 team. The collaboration with my old race engineer Pedro Matos is outstanding. He understands and reads me like no one else and makes me understand the technical things even better.

"

Vesti is looking forward to the first race weekend in Bahrain 3-5 March.

"

We are all very well prepared for Bahrain as the test is right before the race. We are several drivers this year that all have a potential shot at the F2 Championship. But the one driver who comes out on top  – the driver who is the most consistent throughout the season, the one who can make everything play together with his team. That, I personally think will be the most decisive in winning the Championship in a field where we are as close as we are, concludes Vesti.
