Fantastic Victory at Watkins Glen

For the second consecutive year, Vesti lined up this weekend for the Six Hours of Watkins Glen in the United States.

The Whelen Cadillac once again started from pole position, with Jack Aitken taking the opening stint.

I got into the car about 45 minutes into the race. Watkins Glen is considered by racing drivers to be one of the greatest race tracks in the United States, so I had been looking forward to it immensely.

I led every lap during my stint, which lasted about 90 minutes. There were three safety car periods because of crashes, and everyone was pushing incredibly hard.

I carved my way through traffic and had a fantastic battle with the No. 93 Acura. It was pure racing—the kind you dream about as a driver. You truly feel alive when you're racing side by side at more than 300 km/h (186 mph)!

The race wasn't without its challenges, as the team's strategy centered on saving fuel to gain an advantage later on. In the end, that strategy gave us the opportunity to attack in the closing stages.

Jack Aitken took over after Earl Bamber. With an hour to go, we were running fourth, but after the final pit stops and a couple of decisive overtakes, Jack quickly moved into the lead.

The victory marks the team's eighth consecutive podium finish and Vesti's third win with Whelen Cadillac.

These results speak for themselves and show just how well Whelen Cadillac performs as a team. It's an incredible feeling to be a racing driver when you have a car capable of fighting for the win every single weekend. A huge thank you to my teammates and everyone behind the team. Vesti is also delighted by George Russell's victory this weekend at the Red Bull Ring.

It feels like I've celebrated two victories this weekend thanks to the outstanding performances of both of my teams, Vesti concluded.

The next race in the United States will be Road America at the end of July. Before then, Vesti has Formula 1 duties as well as testing commitments with Whelen Cadillac. July promises to be a flat-out month.
