Another milestone in Vesti's career unfolding. Today at Silverstone launching the all new Mercedes-AMG F1 W15 E Performance, it was also announced that in 2024 Vesti will be the reserve driver for Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS F1 Team.

Becoming a reserve driver for Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS F1 Team in 2024 is the next best thing. It's not a Formula 1 seat, but it's the next best thing that could happen to my career right now. To be allowed to be so close to Mercedes, to Lewis Hamilton and George Russell and some of the very best engineers in the world, it's indescribably huge, something that I'm really really happy about. I can't wait to step into and see my new role as a reserve driver come to fruition.

I'm going to be really busy in my simulator role and of course also out on the track in my capacity as a reserve driver. For instance; if something happens to the other drivers, I have to be ready to jump in the car. On the other hand, I also have to stay fully alert on the track in terms of the mental aspects, I have to be completely up to date with the car and with the engineers - what they expect from me - so that I am 100% ready. And my most important role is then to fly home to the factory in England when the race is over, develop and debrief in the simulator.

The first race as reserve driver will be in Bahrain on 29 February - 2 March.
