vesti in elms

For quite some time the media and fans have been asking curiously about Vesti's future plans - here they are.

In 24' Vesti will be part of the line-up for Swiss Cool Racing and participating in 6 races in the European Le Mans series. The team was established just 5 years ago and since then have proved one of the leading contenders in the series.

Vesti's car #47 in the Pro class will be driven by an international line-up of drivers composed of Alejandro Garcia from Mexico, Ferdinand Habsburg, from Austria. With a mix of youth and experience, the trio of drivers will be looking to compete at the top end of a record entry list of 43 competitors!

2024 will continue to challenge and keeping Vesti sharp and being ready for F1, hopefully in 2025.

"

I am delighted to have the opportunity to join Cool Racing in ELMS this season. Driving an LMP2 car and competing in endurance racing will be a totally new experience for me and I am very much looking forward to it. Both the team and I are excited to get going. I thoroughly enjoyed my time in F2; it was pleasing to end it on a high. F1 is still my ultimate goal but it is important to keep racing and staying sharp. This will also be important for my extended commitments with the Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS F1 Team in 2024. It will be great to take part in competitive racing, fully supported by Mercedes F1, and that dovetails around my role with them this year.

Champions behind the wheel

Vesti's two teammates are not unfamiliar with getting on the podium. In 2023, 20-year-old Alex Garcia took the Championship in the LMP3 class with three wins and two podiums in six races, together with Marcos Siebert and Adrien Chila.

At the age of 26, Ferdinand Habsburg has one LMP2 victory in the 24 Hours of Le Mans (2021), has won both the World Endurance Championship and the Asian Le Mans Series titles in the same year, and the European Le Mans Series title in 2022, with four wins. Habsburg is an Alpine factory driver and in 24' also competes in the WEC's Hypercar class.

Vesti's CV is also quite nice!

The 21-year-old Danish star has shown his speed in single-seaters after shining in Danish F4 in 2017 as well as being crowned together with Prema Racing as champion in the Formula Regional European Championship with 13 wins and 10 poles in 2019. Since 2021, Vesti has been a member of the Mercedes-AMG Petronas Junior program, had four wins in F3 with Prema Racing and great success in F2 where he finished second in the championship in 23' with no less than 6 wins.

COOL Racing

With Vesti and the two teammates, COOL Racing shows its ambitious spirit with drivers who are young and talented.

"

We are thrilled and proud to have confirmed such a talented driver line-up for the 2024 season", explains Nicolas Lapierre, the team's co-founder.

The backbone of the team is identical, with youth and an obvious sporting potential. It's important for us to stay with Alex, who continues his development with us and he will be able to count on Ferdinand’s experience. Frederik fits well within our philosophy and we can be ambitious in our objectives. Now, all of this must translate to success on the track in a category that's becoming more and more competitive.

"

Vesti will be seeing action for the first time for COOL Racing in Barcelona on April 14.
